Extension and refurbishment of masonry house.

The rear and side extension consists of load-bearing masonry walls sitting on strip foundation and timber roof.

Openings through existing walls (knock-throughs) are required to connect the existing layout to the extension space. It was proposed to introduce steel beams with top plate to bridge the openings of modest span and support the wall and structure above.
