Oscar Niemeyer Pavillion is at Chateau La Coste in the Provence region, in southeastern of France. The building spaces comprise an exhibition hall with an extensive glazed façade and a circular auditorium.
Lateral stability is provided by reinforced concrete shear walls and reinforced masonry panels. Roof horizontal trusses transfer the lateral loads to the stability elements.
With no internal vertical structure, the main rafters of the roof are supported by perimeter steel columns only. It results in spans of up to 16 m and up to 6 m cantilever overhang.
